We highly suggest flying directly into Philadelphia (PHL) and taking a taxi to your hotel. It’s a short ride and should cost around $20.
For those flying into Newark (EWR), the best way to get to Philadelphia is via Amtrak directly from the airport to Philadelphia-30th St Station. See below for details.
By Car
If you are driving from the NYC area or further north, your GPS may be out of date. Simply drive south through NYC, cross the George Washington Bridge, and take the NJ Turnpike south to Exit 6 and follow the signs for Philadelphia on I-95 South.
For the Loews Hotel, stay in the rightmost lanes and take Exit 22 toward US30E/Independence Hall, following the sign to turn right on Callowhill St. Shortly thereafter, make a left on 6th St. and a right on Market St. The Loews will be on your left at 12th and Market.
For the Notary Hotel, stay in the rightmost lanes and take Exit 22 toward US30E/Independence Hall, following the sign to turn right on Callowhill St. Shortly thereafter, make a left on 6th St. and a right on Market St. You will pass the Loews Hotel on your left. Keep straight one block and bear right at the intersection. Stay to the right and turn into the semi-circular driveway in front of the the Notary Hotel.
If you are driving from South of Philadelphia, take I-95-N, then take Exit 22 and follow the directions above.
PLEASE NOTE: Both hotels are valet parking only in covered garages not open to the elements. They both cost around $50/night so we’d highly encourage you to consider taking the train if you are able!
By Train
For most, simply take Amtrak’s North East Regional or Acela service on the NE Corridor to 30th St Station. If you would like to take the train from New Jersey and do not have direct access to Amtrak, you can take NJ Transit regional rail on the Trenton line to…Trenton, and switch there to SEPTA regional rail (again on the Trenton line!) to 30th St. Station.
Once you arrive at 30th St Station, we’d encourage you to take a taxi, which should be under $10 though it’s not a very long walk if it’s a nice day.

Town
Philadelphia is like any other big city—tou can walk most places. However, if you’re not already familiar with the city, we’d recommend taking taxis as they are quite affordable. The public transportation is confusing and not very comprehensive and some neighborhoods are nicer than others. You can hail taxis on the street or better yet, use Lyft or Uber for a more comfortable and even more affordable ride.
